Ristorante La Fontelina is located directly across from Capri’s iconic Faraglioni and is one of the few restaurants on Capri that are easiest to access by boat (the alternative is to walk down a 300-meter pathway, up to you!). Most people just boat in. It’s the perfect spot to end to a leisurely boat tour around the island. La Fontelina opened in 1949 and has been serving both locals and tourists fresh fish and pasta ever since!! We stopped in for lunch after our boat tour around Capri. What a wonderful place for lunch with a view!
Grab a seat overlooking the sea. The restaurant also owns a beach club, so you can opt to stay longer and enjoy their amenities and jump into the sea. We started lunch with a delicious bruschetta. Since we were on the ocean, we opted for a crisp, mineral Fiano di Avellino wine along with fresh pasta and local fish. The fish of the day was branzino, or what we would refer to as the Mediterranean sea bass. It was grilled with just a dusting of flour served with potatoes and lemon wedges to squeeze over top. The pasta was made with arugula and cherry tomatoes. Check out this recipe inspired by our meal at Ristorante La Fontelina.
There’s a shuttle boat service that will give you a ride back to the shore at Marina Piccola. Make sure that you bring cash for your ride back. It’s five Euros per person and according to their website, they leave every 30 minutes. They told us an hour, but we were able to sweet talk them into bringing us back sooner since we had to catch a boat, but don’t count on it. Plan ahead!
